Re: 86 engine performance

It should be okay with a 65MM but there are several people who can burn a new EPROM for you. Pete Campbell in Michigan is certainly qualified to do it.

Yeah, the SEM is great stuff--but I figured if it's coming off, I want to do it so it lasts another forty years.

Has anyone repainted a Coupe rear wing?

I have a few small specks where the original grey paint has failed. I'm debating repainting the entire wing. Mine is the original urethane style.

Any experience anyone would like to share? I imagine it takes a ton of flex additive. I know on a warm day, my wing can be squeezed significantly ...

I'm still kicking myself for not buying the one Dennis Collins lost his shirt on a few years ago. The estimate scared me off and then it went for around $35k

What Negsum posted is all I have ever seen in an ASC manual car.

What was posted from Henry's site is quite different and more Turbo Coupe-ish.

Henry has lost his normal leather vendor and hasn't replaced him yet.

Now I'm no Vert expert but every ASC shift knob I have seen wrapped in leather was black. It's a factory knob, covered in leather. Originally sourced from Canada but the original firm is long gone.

Henry is out of refurbs at the moment, but a competent leather shop should be able to recover yours ...

Capri--and high-quality stainless.

Use or sell, but they have value.

Not always. The car mentioned had a Premium Sound radio from Ford. They were rare, but they exist.

Factory radios are WAY harder to install than the aftermarket units.

I've seen pics in the holding lot--presumably from 1987 because there are GNXs there too, and there were lots of color Mustang notches waiting for conversion. It was on the ASC/McLaren FB page.

If you're not interested in originality, any stereo shop can install an aftermarket CD player for less than $200.

Sounds like a failed switch, if the AC is not engaged as described above.

A qualified HVAC guy should be able to spot the problem quickly. That may be more economical than throwing parts at the problem.
