Re: 1986 #16

Welcome to the site. Where are you located? Thanks for posting a picture of the car. I don't think blue stripes were offered on the '86 Coupes. It looks to be in nice condition. I see the wheel centers are blue as well. Are the wheels blue between the spokes?

Re: Anybody selling a coupe?

That is pretty neat you owned a L-M dealership. I have heard of the name before. Most likely thru this site. I had a bright Red 86 5.0L back in the late 80's and early 90's. I regretted selling it which led me to finally looking for another one in 2012. That is when I found the '86 Coupe I have now ...

Re: ASC/McLaren Dealerships List

Welcome to the site. If any one can find one, Chuck is the guy. Plus he is a great guy and does a lot for us Coupe owners. I guess I can't post anymore since this is my 115th post. Haha!

Re: Anybody selling a coupe?

Welcome to the site. What L-M dealer did you have? This is how I was able to find the Coupe that I currently own. I put a want ad on a site looking for the a 1986 5.0L Capri and the 1986 Coupe found me. I couldn't pass it up. Someone just might know about one for sale. Any preferences on year?

It was a great time. Even with all the rain, I enjoyed that show more than many others I have been to. Really neat seeing all those ASC/McLarens at one show. Great venue and great people. Can't ask for anything better.

Jason,

Great to hear from you. Carlisle seems forever ago. It was great meeting and talking with you.

Mine does have the filler strip from when Hippy had it restored. I have never seen an original one in person so I don't know if mine is original style or replacement style or the one Hank sells is ...

1986 Coupe Rear Valance Filler Strip

I was looking to purchase the filler strip for the rear valance on a 1986 Coupe. I see on Hank's site a filler strip for the 87-88 Mustangs. Is that the same as would have been used on the 1986 Coupes? I appreciate any suggestions.

Thanks,
Jim

I just checked now, 11/19 7:07pm Eastern, and I was able to get on the site. You are right svo413, many of the people running the site do it as a hobby and do a great job. I know I appreciate all their efforts but some people really don't.

I haven't been able to get on either. Was starting to wonder if it was just me so thanks for posting. I'm not sure what is going on with it. Hopefully it will be fixed soon.

I wonder if it could be related to when they were produced. Mine is #77 and Sandy's is #109. Later in the run. I believe Chuck's first coupe was an '85 as well as his current coupe being and '85. And his '86 coupe was #23 if I remember correctly. Possible Kenwood changed models and designs.

Did ...
