Nick if things work out this year And I do Woodward. I'm sure a seat/ride could be found for you. And maybe even a bed. that is if you want to fly up.

We need to start with baby steps on showing our cars. Last year here in MI. We did Woodwards Mustang Alley and got noticed in Modifed Mustang magazine. Also made a showing In Burch Run for a all Ford show.

This year there is Talk of getting a lot on Woodward and maybe doing Frankenmuth(sp?) I'm also making plans to go to MIS(MICH International Speedway) they have a big show and you can drive on the track for photo's. Maybe some other's will show.

But all in all I just want to drive and enjoy MY CAR 8) and if others are there all the more fun.

Wow that is very kind and generous, God Bless. I hope to be able to go this time. I love looking at the pics you guys have of the cars all together last year. I could only imagine how many pictures I'd be taking myself. Amen for digitals pictures imagine paying for all those rolls of 35mm lol.

Your remarks on having a show in Michigan came after we decided to have a local show in our area, so if you never said yours was the be all end all show just understand how it sounds to others your timing reiterating your show.

Nick :)[/quote]

sorry if you were offended by the mentioning of OUR asc show in michigan again. i mentioned it 4 times in this thead. guess that is 3 times too many.

as far as how it might sounds to others as you asked...probably like i mentioned it again for those who were interested in attending.
& if you remembered(& obviously you dont), i was the person who brought up the idea of regional shows in the first place.

Many things were stated especially the need for regional shows. I dont see it practical for those in say Arizona to make it to Michigan. Also if there is enough in the NY/NJ area having one close to Sandy would be nice. Either way we are all going to have fun and represent our cars.

Nick :)

PS I wish I could make it to Michigan as well, just to far to drive. Someday I would love to fly in.
I don't think that "1985 Motorsport Capri" was pushing his asc get together/show as the "official one". I think he's just reminding everyone that there will be one.

so your saying that its not practical for someone from Arizona to travel to Michigan but it is practical for someone from Arizona to travel even further to Jersey just so Sandy can attend?

also why would you plan a show around 1 person who probably wont even bring his car? that makes no sense.

i never said that the meet/show in Michigan was going to be the be-all/end-all of asc shows. i just said we are going to have a meet like we did last year.
on a side note, since Michigan had the most ASC sales, it would only seem correct that a show in Michigan would draw the most cars.
I think both of you guys are reading WAY too much into each other's comments.

C'mon, let's not squabble over this. Just motivate people to try and get their cars out to ANY show/event....if several people can organize a show here or there then GREAT!

Well, I'm in for the woodward show as long as the weather holds up. Last year it was pretty crappy, but then after showing up at the show and seeing everyone there I was a little sorry I didn't bring it.

Talking about where all the cars are is really interesting. I know there are quite a few in Mich. and Ohio right now, and alot in New York/New Jersey area, which pretty much answers the questions on where those regional shows should be. Out west, y'all will have to figure out where to have it.

I think there are alot of cars sitting away covered up in garages across the nation with owners that aren't involved with this site or don't know about it.

Sidenote: Hey Nick, tell me about that great piece of equipment sitting on top of your engine! What brand/trim is that? Is the rest of your motor stock?

Guys, 'ya know, I am so sick, I am thinking that I am in the process of dying. Pleasse stop bantering about over where to get together.
Motorsport Capri feels very strongly about all this. Is it not better that he feels strongly, than doesn't give a crap?

It's okay with me if it's not near me. We can always have another one, later in Jersey. It's a big country It cannot be 'round the corner from everyone. I will not feel slighted, nor annoyed if I cannot attend with a car. Hell, I may not even be alive then! It's more important to me that we all get along and that there are no bad feelings. I'll back out, if that's the problem. Let Jason have it. He is committed to the club, if not sometimes just a wee bit rough around the edges. He has a beautiful car, too, that he has put alot into. If it's to be in the Summertime, it's not so beastly hot in Michigan as in Jersey or the Carolinas.

Just e'one chill out.

I can only imagine how great Woodward is. I might try to come but doubt I will drive the car there from NY. With all the low mileage cars we recently saw for sale I bet you are totally right about allot of cars sitting away covered up in garages. Word of mouth is the best way to announce any events. I bet another problem is car collectors who own excellent examples arent as committed to one car as we are. So henceforth a portion of ASC owners probably own 50 other cars and not a drop of loyalty to one.

Nick

PS Sidenote, its only a Powerdyne 6lb atm with a bunch of work I am in between. I liked the idea of no oil line hook up, super quiet, and in the Ford catalog. I just got back from small claims court today. I am suing a bodyshop/ mechanic for the work he did on my ASC. He did such a poor job that I have to have the car redone. I have no clue how the Judge is going to call it. The first time around the arbitrator sided with me refunding 3/4 of total costs. Bodyshop appealed last minute (34th day of allowed 35) so I had to go back to court. Once this is put to rest I will start working on the car again putting on the heads, intake, cam, larger s/c pulley, upgraded brakes suspension, etc...

Hi Sandy, I was under the impression that because the Capris were cut from the hatchbacks it would be a totally different car then a Mustang sedan.

No pretty much the same, however, when the hatch went up, it took with it the rear fender peaks, therefore asc made out of STEEL new ones and WELDING them into posistion. On some cars the welding was spotty and these cars are now exhibiting some rear upper quarter rust bubbles.
Some have actually said that the Capris were easier as there was no ""C" pillar, just the "B" ~

Guys,

The Garden State Region Mustang Club is having their spring show at the Ford Dealer on Route 23 South in Butler NJ on Sunday April 29th. I will be bringing my 88 ASC McLaren. This is a judged show (I usually judge a class or two) run by people who deal heavily in the MCA and AACA. You will also see some of the best vintage model Mustangs in the North East.

For further info, call Mike DeLiberto at 201-933-6915, or e-mail mladeliberto@att.net.

ASC Show/Rally

Hi All,

After reading umpteen entries on this idea. May I suggest WFC 10 at Indy in May.

Indy is fairly centrally located, a large Ford venue, there appears there are quite a few Four Eyed Pride members going. With a large Capri & ASC turnout, show space could be allocated through Dallas Mustang (Show Sponsors), we would need to coordinate a sequential registration (can be accomplished on-line). :D

I am hoping to show my Eurocoupe at several shows, since WFC is no longer here in St. Louis  & would like to meet some of the great people from this site & FEP. I am sure there are a couple Indy locals that could advise on area and a possible cruise route. :P

Hope this doesn't stir the pot, just itching to see more than 1 or 2 ASC's at any given place. :P Please PM me anyway if you will be at Indy, I am planning to attend at least Sat/Sun.

CYA,
Jim
