i noticed today that my seats are different than the ones in the gold 89 that is in the classifieds, aaron and chris's seat have the diaganl lines in the, i think sandy told me my car was built in feb 89, when did they change seats?

1987 & 1988 Seats featured diagonial pleats and were dedicated left & right on both seat & backrest.

1989 & 1990 lost those pleats and were open in the centers & plain, and could be used oneither side, lowering the cost for ascMcLaren.

Color changed too.

1987 & 1988 were Scarlet Monotone; Medium & Dark Regatta Blue; Sand Beige Monotone; Light & Medium Titanium Grey.

1989 was Scarlet Monotone; Medium & Dark Regatta Blue; Sand Beige Monotone and Light & Medium Titanium Grey, using the same colors, but in the new seat covering design.

1990 saw new colors: Scarlet Monotone; Light & Medium Crystal Blue; Light & Medium Opal Grey; and new Oxford White and new Ebony Black.

In 1989 they used up existing stock of the pleated seats by color and when called for color was depleated, they went with the non-pleated style, so, 1989s can be found with either design, and with eaither design they are "correct" !
