Regal Red-Fox Metallic 1988

Post by toddf »

I ran across a 1988 vert today, VIN 1FABP40E4JF266309.
It had brown interior, tan top, Ricarro seats, 5 speed.
It is painted a dark red. How would I go about telling if it is the one and only Regal Red Metallic?

NOPE

That VIN checks out as "Black-Cherry Pearl" over Sand Beige with a Tan Roof !

Here are the facts about the sole " Regal Red-Fox Metallic " Car - -

1988 Title
"Regal Red-Fox Metallic"
"Sand Beige" Interior
"Black" Roof
"Gold" Wheels

Automatic Tranny

Whistler Spectrum-II Superhetrodyne Remote Integral Radar Detector

NO Recaro Seats, it has the Standard Leather Articulating Seats
IT's VIN IS 2 0 4 1 2 5

START LOOKING

I think I also have the state that it was originally shipped to, but I am too tired out to begin that 1,O15 car paper trail search......

I thought it was to good to be true.
The guy is asking 7500, but it is in very rough shape.
I think he will take considerably less than $7500, like I said, very rough.

Thanks for the homework!

Chris, are you interested in pics of this car specifically or in general? If so there are some examples of this color combo floating around. I just went through Hanks site and didnt find any but Tom's has plenty. You just have to go through the pages. Some of the pics wont upload from their thumbnails but there are some really nice ones that do. So far I see allot with the wine color top and tan interior. Here is an examples:

Hope this helps.

Yea, I've seen those before. Thanks though. That '89 black cherry or regal red one that is shown at that Lexus dealership was for sale 2-3 years ago. I wish I could've snapped that one up. That was very clean. I've been working on my wife for awhile now telling her that she "needs" a fun summer car (really a way for me to have 2 ASCs - LOL) It doesn't help my argument for getting her one when she knows the tops are manual :x  Why couldn't they have been automatic!!! It takes a certain amount of strength and finesse to correctly raise and lower our tops without damaging it. Its a piece of cake for me, but even I like having someone on the other side to help!

I'm not sure what I'm doing right now. I'm considering selling or parting my '65 that is partially disassembled right now, it would kill me to sell it, but I'm having flashes of "reality" hit me lately. I've owned it since 1990 and I know that it'd cost more to finish it vs. just buying one that is "done", and there are quite a few resto-mods out there finished very close to my tastes. I didn't get it going in restoration while I was still single, and now I'm married. End of story. same ol story.

I've seen those on Tom's album site. I just wondered if anyone had pics of the car that Todd found in SC? He mentioned it was in rough shape, which is too bad since its 1 of 3...........

I will try and swing by and take some pics. Like I said, it is VERY rough.
I don't honestly know how a car could actually get that bad!
