B303 and other secret Coupe modifications

That's odd my 85 had one in it. I know it's on my shelf The 86 does not have the cam in it. I thought it was due to my 86 being an auto and the b303 wanting a converter.

Feel better Sandy. I had minor hernia surgery and it hurt like crazy. Something about being at the core of your body makes every movement, breath and (god forbid) sneeze a painful moment indeed!

What month was your 85 built? I swear my 85 has the b303 it has a June build date. It was delivered August 30, 1985

Anyone think that maybe ascMcLaren just put the B-303 in some cars? I don't know what guidlines would deem this car yes and that car no.... But, you've gotta admit it sure seems that way. I read no 1985s, yet, we now know that is not true. Paperwork stated ALL 1986s....and now we see that is not always true, either. Sandy punchs blank... No answer.

No, clue! I know some cars got special paint...maybe some folks
got special engine treatments? My car has the vin designation
1mebp prefix. I believe that means it wasn't a mule car! It had to be disassembled and the reassembled at Mclaren. Is that true Sandy?

I know one thing for certain. I have driven a couple different 84, 85 Mustang GT's and this Mclaren will eat their lunch and hand them the wrapper. I guess it will remain a mystery until I have to disassemble
my motor or I run into another 85 coupe to compare it with.

No Dave. Let me correct. A "Mule" car (or "MULE" were the name given to cars ordered under D32 CODE ~ the special code allotted to ascMcLaren. MULES were in other languages "INVENTORY" !!! Or inventory on hand.

XYZ Ford Inc. of anywhere, USA has signed up to be an ascMcLaren dealer. He wants to order 3 units. He takes his ascMcLaren order form, checks off the colors (body/Interior/Top and what ascMcLaren installed options he wants and what transmission and mails it away with $$$$$ !!. ASC receives it and the porter goes outside, thru the gate and finds the ciorrect "mule" !
(Interior-wise & Tranny-wise. All else doesn't matter !!
Am I clear ?

All coupes (as far as we know) got the 1mebp prefix.

Only some of the verts had the 1meh prefix (I think I got that prefix right?).
