Great meeting you guys! Thanks for keeping the dream alive!

Maybe next year, I'll have another Coupe.

Found my old album and will post some pics to the album soon. The '85 and the '86, both as delivered and with the changed stripes. Sad, but none of the photos are very good.

Car event stuff:

Lest we forget, the Sunday cruise at Baker's in Milford every sunny Sunday. Great all-marques event and some very nice folks!

Great looking cars! And the hood ornaments on the first aren't bad either!

Wow
Is what I can say . There was so much Ford Skunk works triva flying around there (old Skunk works) . Sure was neat to talk to so many Retired Ford design guys and connected people to the industry. Man I wish I had a camcorder for some of those conversations. Met up with a old employee of ASC and a Sales Guy who was directly related to the forming of ASC . He sure had a lot of story's and pictures to back them up ......there was no BS there.
Howard Storch (?) also A ASC employee was there also .
He chatted a bit and told some more story's Says he has some pictures of ASC if he can find them . He was glad to see the Pace cars there also . Hippy sure bent his ear for a bit ....yuk yuk .
For those of you who did not attend you mised a good one . I was only planning to stay till 1pm but there was so much car talk going on we all stayed till 5 pm. Sensory overload would be the best way to explain it.
Hippy you owe us for the cute Models . Mark and I had such sweat charm with them we had them pose with your car while you were gone . Thay asked if they could lay on your hood but we thought that might be pushing it (SNICKER)
AND you grump so hard about not having a Capri class ......who needs a class when you got class ......the ladies thought it so ......."Capri the sexy European" (LOL)

Congrats to Hippy for Winning His division
Congrats to Mark for winning his division (even thow he was placed in the wrong one) Snicker.

Had a Great time and I found a boat load of Capri GP IV litrature in the swap area also . I will scan and post as soon as I can .

Mark came thru with his awsome Subs again .... Nice to see Peter there even thow I did not talk much with him .

There was a BIG push to get a CAPRI only class set up for next year.
THere statement was that very few Capri's ever show . That is why they never set a class for them . The Galaxy Club a few years back sponsered the awards for there Division so they could have there own class. Here is the LOW down if you want a class you got to get involved ....that means showing up with a Capri . Mark, Hippy and myself did a lot of talking with officials .....for a possability for next year. I asked them to e-mail me if they do decide to have one. That way I can contact you all to come. "Build it and they will come". SO now it will be your part to particapate.
According to the club this was the most Capri's they had (four) and that is not saying much for the Detroit area!.
The designer for the GT was there and with his personnal GT also . Saw about 7 cars with Manufactuer plates on them also......HMMMM .
At the end of the day I parked out in front of the Ford head quaters and took some "Glamour" and or "promotion" pictures of the GP IV . Hope they turn out (35 mm film)

Was I the only one shocked by the absence of Ford at an event in their own parking lot?

Last time I went there were a lot of SAAC-MCR folks I didn't see this time and no Ford, Ford Racing, etc. displays. Not even Roush?

Would seem to me that a home town event in front of your core consumer, in your own parking lot would justify the effort.

With new CAFE regs set to kill factory performance, Ford has a vested interested in the aftermarket, if only to sell the stuff they've already developed.

Kinda makes you go hmmmm....

i took my GPIV to that show a couple times & always tried to attend since it was 2 blocks away from my home where i grew up.
last time was in '07

once around '90 i had an 1985 5.0/5-speed mustang gt vert nut following me around offereing cash for the gp4 all day.

i remember back in the early/mid 80's when they actually had a area in the parking lot set up for orginized drag racing!
how the times have changed.
