Plus horrible rear spoiler on deck lid and look at all the dashes between each number on the odometer, and notice that the same dashes are NOT present on the trip-odometer. Why ? 'Cause the clock has been "kicked" !

I didn't know that about the odometers. So if they have dashes between the numbers, it's rolled over 100k?

When I had my 140mph speedo apart to set it to my original 85mph speedo mileage...I never noticed any dashes.

Mine does not have any dashes. But then I have an SC with the 140 MPH speedo. Is anyone positive that the dashes = over 100K? How would they get the dashes between the existing numbers???

I think the dashes are actually reflections. I looked at some more speedo pics and I don't see how the dashes could show up unless there were 20 numbers per number wheel, half with dashes, and half without. And I am nearly positive that there are only 10 numbers per wheel 0-9.

The "5" is higher than the other numbers.
I was told that when any number is picked (using a certain
tool, oft called a pique) (?) and reversed, the dashs appear.

Now, why else would there be dashs between each # ?
Does ANYONE on here have THAT in their Speedo ?
Bet Not. The dashes will not appear if the #s are turn forward -
or "up" as in 7 to 9 but will if turned backward as 9 to 7.

Now....I did not "invent" this. It was told to me by a used car dealer
and only Ford Products will do it and only vehicles in the late 70s & 80s and up to 91.
ALL I KNOW !!

Personally, I cannot get past that spoiler, to worry about the mileage.

I dunno Sandy. I've had my 140MPH speedo apart to set the odometer...and saw no dashes.

If you don't get it set right, the numbers can be skewed a bit. But you just have to get it lined up right.

Nope. I am not convinced. No dashs on trip odometer! The numbers are uneven, the "0" is lower than the "3" and the "5" is higher than any of the others.
