Sandy,
What is the difference (if any) between the engines with 5.0 SC and the ones with 5.0 HO on the plate on the top of the engine?? Can't find any info on it anywhere.
Someone said it meant 'Supercharged', which mine isn't, and several others said "Special Cam'. Mine has the 5.0 SC plate.
HO vs SC

True, but I was thinking the HO was not regulated in some form or fashion with computers overlooking engine functions *OR* as much as the later SC was. Si or no?
Sandy passed away in 2012. He will be forever missed.

I'm confused.
I was addressing this:

From 1982 Ford put "HO" 5.0 engines into the Mustangs/Capris. These changed over the years. Flat tappet cams came in the first few years and were ditched for roller cams, tubular headers replaced exhaust manifolds and the carbs gave way to computerized EFI, heads changed. Horsepower improved every year while the engine was always marketed as an "HO" engine.
There was never an "SC" engine. asc just put the "SC" plate in place of the HO tag. But it was the same engine.
