I think the important part is that 1015 were made for model run 1988.
Yes, it is too bad that they were not numbred in proper order, but.....for them at ASC, doing all those cars, the proper installation of the dash plaque was not very high on the list.
I am glad I was able to get all the build sheets on them and post them here regarding colors & installation of options.

I hope you got it at a good price.
In my opinion, it was a real good price for a #1 for year produced 44K mile driver with a good top; a slightly better than fair price for 44K mile 'almost' driver that just needs some minor work to get on the road; and a high price for a non-operational project that needs a driveline overhaul and top replacement. Considering the rust in the quarter corners, had I gotten it for free that might have been too high of a price.
Once I get it home and can dig into it to see for sure what it needs, Ill give you the final verdict. And post pics.

OK, although I thought all the 1986 Paris blue cars were V6 Summer Specials.
What shade is the Atlantic Blue?

Dark blue, like their convertible rtoof color.
Now there were also 302 V8 Paris Blues made.
The Sping Special also came in Silver, with the blue
interior & the Dk. Blue roof.
As you can see in the pic, All Speing Specials had
painted color-matched wheels. The regular ascMcLren options
were available, as well.

If I am understanding your comment correctly Sandy, then this is an odd car. It has the body color wheels, but is not a Spring Special - it has a V8.
How many non-Spring Special Paris blues were made in 1986? What were the counts of the various interior and top combinations?

That is 100% correct ! However, the colored wheels could have been purchased thru ascMcLaren parts Dept.
Now then, and NOT 100% positive on this next part. I did NOT read it, not have it in my stuff, this is just from my personal observation......
My selling dealer was one of those gigantic on the highway
stores, with the mandatory 300 new on the ground, 150 in transit and 45 salesmen on the floor.....The kinda place I tell everyone to say clear of....but.....they were the ONLY McLaren dealer in Northern New Jersey - so, i had to go there. Now then.... they had 4 (FOUR) Spring Specials in stock. All 4 were 6-Cyl with mandatory Automatic (as per FoMoCo).
I noticed (and I SUSPECT) ...... (but have no proof.....) that the Spring Specials were all ascMcLaren equipped with EVERY ascMcLaren option......
WHY ??? Because all 4 had:
Recaros / Whistler Radar Unit / Power Locks / Side, rear and front Air Dams & Side Skirts, and the color=keyed wheels. They had the nice wood on the dash, too.
On another part of this board I explain that the Spring Specials were sorta kinda a GIFT to the L-M dealers - Sorta like a grand finale for them.
Briefly, The MSRLP Window sticker listed the cost of the Spring Specials add'l. item and the add'l. cost thereof, but on the delaer's invoice from ascMcLaren it was also listed, but in the COST column as
N/C

She's home! I've added pics to my album.
She is a nice 50 footer, but there are more issues than I was hoping for. I got the top up and truck open - well, you can see the top; and the truck has a soft spot underneath (do the verts use standard Mustang convertible truck lids?). I need to spend more time on the engine, with a strong battery, to see if she'll run. I probably over paid, but I really like this car. There's just something about the shade of blue, with the matching wheels and ground effects.

Hi.Glad to see you got your 'vert. Will be good to have a sister ship, in Paris Blue. My car also came with body color wheels, but took it upon myself to change the color. I can hear Sandy groaning now. Hope you enjoy it as much as I do mine.
I JUST BARF'd. You didn't like the Paris blue wheels ?????
