Sorry foxfleet, been sick pretty bad the last 24hrs.

I didn't get to talk to my buddy on the radio but will call him today (Friday)

I just want the HL cover like I mentioned and 1 good cap for my wheel I don't care what it has on it acutally, just want one thats good.

Someone will have to tell me which version my new asc has, its all greek to me.

Check your wheels. They should be OUTSIDE loading caps. TYP-34F should be on them. Later (like 87+) wheels the caps pop in from the inside.

What is the TYP #? I can't quite read it. It doesn't look like the TYP-34F.

You need to check all four wheels I think. You may have a mismatched set.

I was confused. I thought maybe it was pics from 2 different wheels.

Regardless, you have at least one inside/rear loading wheel. You better check the others. I was under the impression that 87+ cars got the inside loading caps.

Although if the previous owner is like my friend, he may have gone through 3 wheels in 2 years and have gotten replacements.

I will check my wheels, but no I didn't push it in. Those are 2 different wheels.
One with a cap and one without but appears someone put it on the inside (drum side) of wheel not out..LOL

Alright looking closely at them, they both look like inside loading wheels.

Still, check the other two.

In your first pic, you can see "TYP1734F" in raised print around the upper left of the wheel center. What I can't tell is if it is the earlier "McLaren" cast wheel like the one in the second pic or the later "MSW" wheel.

No, INSIDE. That cap stuck in there loads from INSIDE the wheel. The wheel has to come off to install/remove it.

You need INSIDE loading caps for the two wheels shown.

Note how there are two styles.

When looking from the LOGO side, the OUTSIDE loaders are wider nearest to the LOGO side.

The INSIDE loaders are widest at the base with sort of bulbous tabs. That cap stuck in your wheel is this style. She could never load from the outside.

So someone probably had the wheel off, put it back on without the cap and then said oh crap, then ended up pushing it in backwards from the front.

More like put the wheel one, didn't notice the cap was not flush and tried to pull it out only to push it in....and just left it that way. Or more likely, somebody tried to remove it and found that they have to take the wheel off and just left it.
