I've always been fond of Koni, but the ride may be a bit stiffer than you wish. They are adjustable, but the softest is stiffer than stock.capri50asc wrote:What kind of struts would you guys recommend for a '86 Vert McLaren?

Monroe makes a fine line and they're made in the US (maybe even the Monroe, Michigan plant), at least last I looked.

I installed them on Scoutdrivinrebel 1986 ASC formally Hippys and Chris's 1988 ASC. And have them on my Cars. Great for normal driving. I also have been installing them at work for acouple of years and been very happy. NO combacks for ride or leakage problems.
If you need help or looking for someone to install LMK I can help.

I can vouch for the Monroes. I like them. They provided the same stock performance as the originals.plumkrazy wrote:ChuckG wrote:Monroe makes a fine line and they're made in the US (maybe even the Monroe, Michigan plant), at least last I looked.
