Ebay 89 ASC Mclaren
I dunno guys, I kinda like it. Put a Cervini's Stalker nose and Mach 1 hood on it (blacked out like a 71 Mach 1), get a set of ASC taillights to replace the GT ones and away you go. I'd have to put the foglights back, or run brake ducts though.
I've contemplated welding on the fender flairs of a Capri on my 93 Solo I Cobra as a subtle wide-body kit to give me a bit more room for my tires.
I got my driving suit on, so flame away!

Ditto Sandy, I was going to list all of the same stuff. But one other thing I noticed that I haven't seen listed.Sandy wrote:It's a big shiny sexy looking RED CONVERTIBLE and some young guy (or gal) is gonna go Whoppie over it.![]()
In truth, it's a mess,
and I think that the owner does in fact know alot more about it.
Above & beyond the obvious:
Wrong Headrests
Slip Covers over more than likely shot OEM leather
Mustang GT Side Ground Effects
Wrong placement of antenna, for a 1989
No Fog Lites
Wrong FRONT Air Dam
Wrong Spoiler
Wrong Tonneau Cover
Missing the > < points on the top of the doors, finishing off the tonneau cover
and yes, wrong tonneau, and non original conv. roof (and wrong, also)
Besides what others have said.
I know, I know, 1 owner, never in an accident, older woman owner,
and buy it privately and ya don't have to deal with those used car salesmen, whom ya can't trust !
Looking at all of the pictures, it doesn't seem to be riding at the stock height. Looks too high. Camper springs used?? So I'm also guessing they didn't use OEM springs/shocks......... something ain't right there.
And I have to say, with all the "issues" with this car, I'm truly amazed it actually has the correct wheels on it. With everything else on it, I would expect a set of "10 holes" or GT hurricane wheels on it.
and I'll never understand why anyone would put capri fenders on this.
Lots of red flags.

The back end is simply horrid. I'd say she was hit & hit hard in the rear end, driving her forward wipping out the lower front. She was definately cut in half at the tonneau area, and then had a Mustang rear facia attached. I'd love to take a decent magnet to her @$$ end and so how many places it won't stick to!
She'd probably BARK at me !!!

Capri flares do not provide any more room for wheels. Mustangs have the SAME flares through the wheel opening as Capris, just smaller/shorter.rlyons13 wrote: I've contemplated welding on the fender flairs of a Capri on my 93 Solo I Cobra as a subtle wide-body kit to give me a bit more room for my tires.

Depends on how many telephone poles are in the ditch.
What am I not catching in regard to the wheel opening of the left front fender?

Sandy, shouldn't an '89 model also have the mirrors mounted down lower on the doors rather than the leading edge by the A-pillar? See... I'm learning.
Too bad that car doesn't have a button you can push and it'll regurgitate its life history from day one. Bet it has a helluva tale to tell!

Actually, the flairs, the way I would weld them on, would give me the touch more room I need in the front. I'm running 94 Cobra front control arms to get an extra 1" of front track, which also gives me a bunch more negative camber then I could get normally. My only problem is on some more aggressive tracks, I either have to increase the front compression rate or live with a touch of rub on the front tires. I've rolled the front fender lips, but I'd like to have the extra clearance.
For aero, I'm trying to figure out (re: get the guts to do it) how to successfully do the "Griggs cut" to widen out the front nose to cover my new wheel placement.
It never ends.
