New guy with questions

Just purchased an 87 vert, and I have a few questions.

The car is in decent shape, but it definitely needs some work. Mainly the interior. I want to get it looking close to new original.

1. I can't get the top to secure. The screw in the rear looks good, but the motor keeps spinning, and spinning. It won't hold it in place so the top is able to lift freely which makes it come loose while driving.

2. When the top did secure I didn't have a complete seal the entire way around the rear of the convertable top. There were gaps in the weather stripping near the door. Is this typical? Anyone have pictures of how well it should seal?

3. Does anyone have a good site for interior resto places? I found a NOS steering wheel, but it is listed as $450 which seems a little outrageous.

4. I got a quote to have the recaro seats recovered for $650 each. Does this sound reasonable to anyone?

Aren't the 87+ steering wheels special, leather wrapped? I don't see $450 as outrageous at all.

I paid $500 for my NOS wheel and pad 13 years ago for my 85.

Regarding the big screw at the bottom center of the roof, under the rear plastic window, try gently applying a small bit of pressure to nudge it downward. Not too much, just enough to "show it the way".
The price for the recaro recover is actually CHEAP !
On the other points you raise, I cannot assist.
