Looks like the price is coming down on the high end.

Is this one a little pricey, or not?

http://denver.craigslist.org/cto/1822260990.html

And this one is 600.00.......Anyone think it's a typo?

If it was closer I'd buy that '86 just to have the spare parts!! But Burbank is a long way away!

COULD BE !! It looks like a big pile of things gone wrong.
Lots of work & $$$$

I think that the really mint ones are going way too cheap.

Ten Thou is the most I've seen even ASKING price !

Well without the details I would say it is way over priced. Sandy is right. i see the nice low mileage ones going for 10k to 13k. If I had an opportunity to by a mint '88 or '89 with lets say 703 miles on it and it was stored properly...I would pay 25k for it. Cant help it. I love these cars!

ps Sandy, if you ever want to give up your silver anniversary car let me know. :hello:

I have to be honest, everyone. I've been sandbagging on the # of cars I've found

Just haven't got to post most of them. I've been saving the searches from various CL cities in my favorites so I can just click that city to if theres a car for sale there.

This one is by far the best deal I've seen.

$3800 and only a days drive away. Does anyone know who this guy is?

There are quite a few of the black cat verts out there right now, and a couple of red ones. Most of the 'stangs have been customized, as was mine before I got it.

Wonder how many vehicles were sold with the appearance package? Almost everyone I see for sale doesn't have it.

The appearance package sure adds a lot of looks to the car.

Was the package only on certain years, and what did it consist of?

It was a mid 86 option on the verts, however, the pieces could be purchased directly from asc or through a dealer, so they could be put on any Capri.

1986 #0001 has it, but being the first vert for the year it shouldn't. I presume it was installed at a later date, but with asc you never know.
1986 ASC vert - #86-0001
1986 ASC vert - 3.8SC v6
1986 ASC vert - Silver/Black/Gray

1985 GPIV - The Official Pace Car
1985 ASC coupe - modified
1985 ASC coupe - roller

Unless a person is in the car business, as I was, and really knows HOW to write ads, you need to learn how to look for goofs. Now, this Merc. Capri ascMcLaren in Black with Sand Beige interior looks terrific, I worry about his ad.
He writes:
"" but have too many other projects in the works and don't foresee getting to this in the near future.""
Okay.... that's fair .... BUT WAIT In his next sentence, he wipes out that reason !!!!! He then states that he'd be interested in a Ford Bronco ('Ya know for sure that sukkah is gonna need alot of resto, or a MoCycle. Now then, to me, this signals that IF he has time for taking on an old Bronco, he should need less time to detail his McLaren, No ? Adding the motorcycle tells me that $$$$$ is not too high on the list of trouble. In other words he has some bucks.
So, then, why his he selling this very very respectible 1986 ascMcLaren?

To my mind...there is something BIG BAD with the car, that".......

1.) There are absolutely no parts available to replace some part that he needs, and due to that, he has lost his love for it.
2.) Something that cannot be fixed.

I, personally think this is a car that needs to be bought by a local to him, or someone with the $$$$ AND TIME to travel there and do very good go-over on the car.
