Oh sure, and that's what they are internded to do. I am not saying that car is probably trouble, No I am not. I am saying the present owner has fallen outta love with it. There is a readon. There is ALWAYS a reason.
The buyer has to find out if THAT reason would be passed on to him (or her).
Is it financed? Perhaps her got laid off and does not have the spare $$$ to buy whatever the car needs....Perhaps the next buyer has the needed coin. See? I would never buy a used car 3, 6, 9 states away from me.
I wanna see, smell, touch, look over, and drive the car, try the roof, the power trunk, , A/C and stereo. I want to know what I am getting & what I am going to be fixing. If a car **IS** a stand up car (as we in the buzz call 'em) ~ I will pay his asking price. I would not beat a man down on his price, on a stand-up piece. If there are several things that need attention, I would discuss them with the buyer, and try to come to a amicable agreement on the money aspect.
I would only buy this car in question if I had the time & $$$ to go to it and play touchee-feely with it.

Sandy,
Times have changed.
If you want a particular automobile you need to search for it. Which we couldn't do when you, or I, were selling cars.
Now, E bay puts us in touch with a seller. And under their rules, he/she must be honest and truthful.
I've bought 4 cars over Ebay/and/or the internet. 80 Corvette. 65 Thunderbird, 97 Ford Expedition and my '86 McLaren. Never saw or touched any of them beforehand. All have been great cars.
Craig's list???? I'd want to touch, feel ,smell and drive them!!

THE SPORTS APPEARANCE PACKAGE
was available only on the 1986 convertibles
and included all of the ground effect pieces as well as the front air dam with the built in Fog lights (Hella). $1,765.00 was the MSRLP.
They never released the number of cars that were ordered with it.
My guess is about 20% of the 245 or like 50 or so.

There are services available that will do pre-purchase inspections for potential buyers of remote vehicles. Auto Appraisal Group (AAG) is one I am familiar with. An inspector local to the car will go to the car, touch it, put a magnet to the body, take every possible pic you could think of (and some you wouldn't), and go on the road in the vehicle. For a quality job, its not cheap, but worth every penny if it saves you from buy a POS in sheep's clothing.
Although, when I bought my Cobra replica, I ponied up for the airfare to go inspect it myself before making the drive to bring it home.
