OK. I get it. So, none of them lock unless of the preceeding explanations.
I know of a very very steep hill. I am gonna take HiHo Scarlet there and go up this really steep hill, to the top, turn around and go down it. It is like this: / ya, that steep. I will go like 20 miles an hour and at some point I will apply the brakes, sharply & see what happens. I will do tghis in April.

Re: Inertia Seat Release
Ah, the shop manual. Makes sense to see what the manufacturer says. Thanks!

Here's what it says:
Inertia: With the inertia seat back system, the seat back is folded forward for rear entry or exit by simply pushing the seat back forward. The Inertia latch assembly remains unlocked with NORMAL usage. it locks only only during vehicle deceleration (emergency stopping or upon impact) or on steep downhill grades. A manual (override) release handle is provided ONLY
to facilitate unlocking of the latch in the event of latch lockup on steep downhill grades or severe vehicle altitude changes as a result of an accident. Well mine are broken!

Sorry - I forgot to say thanks to capri50asc, for finding that info!
It's 1:15 AM, now. I could not go to sleep, this was bothering me so much. I don't like anything less than perfect in, on or whatever, with my cars. I am nuts that way. Nothing new, however.

I like the old way, where if you wanted to tilt the front seat forward, you had to bend all the way down, and find the small release lever, and take a finger and gently lift the lever up, while pushing the top of the seat-back forward. It made me feel "connected" to the sync of the car, almost as though we were connected to one & other, and understood each other.
Then came my 1975 Imperial LeBaron 2-Door Hardtop. Fancy Schmancy car. You opened either door and a soilnoid would automatically release the locked seat-back. It was rewarding, in that it made a very high quality kaa-Plunk sound, when it released. When you closed the door, it repeated the nice Kaa-Plunk. I liked that !
Now? Damn thing sit there, confusing me as to what it does or does not do and when or why
So, now 3 work and 1 does not ??!! What to do? Perhaps I should sell thre car, for a really cheap price and not have to worry about this inertia VS no inertia locking. I am afraid to test the Coupe, like...what if ????
