It would have had to been a very, very early 86 since I quit that job in June of 1985. My guess is it was and 84 or 85 that someone bought back East and brought it to the Seattle area when it wasn't very old. It wasn't in the auction, someone drove it there to attend it.

Edit: Found it. 1986 was the first year ascMcLarens could be obtained on the west coast. So you must have seen one of the 86's.

YES....... but an owner of a 1985 could drive his/her car into California where others could view it. A few did slip thru, here & there - but I would guess less than 10, combined 1984 & 1985.
