found something interesting in the spare tire well today

Post by mca1686 »

I was cleaning out my trunk today and I found the dealer packet unopened for the wheel locks. It had a tag that the dealer was supposed to hang from the turn signalswitch and a deal they were supposed to stick to the trunk. The wheel locks were still sealed in the package, the lugbwrech had the lock attached to it in a little package. There were also wheel weights to offset the wheel locks. My question is was it optional for the dealer to install these items or did they just forget to do it?

yea when I bought my '88 GT the dealer installed them and put the regular lugs back in the packet you have and put them in the glove box.

So the dealer forgot to do it as my dealer (in NJ - Homan) told me they did this as to not loose the lug key and then have to impact off the locks...

Yep even the wheel weights which were sealed with the lug nuts, it has all the dealer and customer instructions. If anyone's interested can post a pic. One more question what color shouldel the jack be for 88. Mine was missing and my friend gave me a nice originalbblue one out of a 86 gt
