Need some help....

Post by slug_nut »

hello everyone,
I'am new to the forum and need some help..

Well First the lay out of my car:
Was: 1979 Mustang Notch Back
Now: 1979 Mustang Vert.

But it is now only a 2 seater with custom roll bar bracing (For the frame) and no back seat.
The only problem is the tonnel cover that cover's up where the back seat was and were the roof ended LOOKS HUGE!
I'am thinking to put a back seat in or I have seen some ASC Mustangs and Like the storage area..
ALSO in the ASC MCLAREN MUSTANG is that back seats or just a storage area?

What I need help is to search for ANY KIND OF CAR that has had a similar chop done. So I can get an Idea of what they did.

CLIFF NOTES: Search for cars that were roof chopped off to make a custom vert.

The ascMcLarens Converts of 1984-1990 were all 2-seater. In the area where the rear seat HAD BEEN, there was an elevated box type of thng, covered in carpeting. It served as a platform of sorts on which one cold plac a large duffel bag or gym bag. There were twin flip covers, that covered two seperate compartments for storage of small items. The carpeted side panels housed stereo speakers. The remainder of the area (going rearward) was the area the roof folded down into. I'll go get a picture..... be back.

Forget the Bivouic. There are zero parts. Ditto the same for the Cabrio` from A.I. = NO parts.

Slug_Nut, you'ddo alot better to just sell your car & purchase a real ascMcLaren. You are biting off a huge chunk of work and in the end, when you are all done (& broke from buying parts and parts and more parts...it STILL will not be an ascMcLaren ! Think about it !~~

I think i have some more pic's on my comp somewhere. I'll check
Also the rims I have on mine differ. from the pic. I could go take some more pictures of it but I have the tonneuo cover removed and the whole interior etc...

You like the colour? I was thinking of getting it painted? But I'am not sure yet.
Well I was on the web site with the ASC parts and I noticed the cat fog lights... Mine have the same ones...Also has the Recaro seats. There isn't that much work to do to make it similar to ASC because the back seat and everything has all been moved it just the act of putting in a seat looking storage area in the back.

O yah thanks N20Capri for sending me this way.... :D

I would do that, but I bought this car right when I turned 15 in which it is my first real car (Had many field cars in past times). So I want to keep it. well and if I do sell it my parents said they would buy it. But I still wont sell it.
But I see what you mean.

No! I changed my mind, it's clean, unique & sharp. Don't sell it and please, keep the color, it looks terrific in THAT color. It would definately turn MY head!!! :spinhappy:

I too like the color a lot.

Your house in a nice rural setting. I am envious.
