DId Mclaren use SSP cars when they were built or were just some of them ordered as SSP, been reading but confused on this topic, new to the site and hope I'm not asking a question that has been beat to death.

SSP cars may have used the same DSO 32 for a special build like the asc cars, but I am unsure on that. Back then, computers systems were fudged to make things work.
But the SSP program was very separate from the asc one as far as I know.

I recently purchased a 1989 #98 (its in the database here) from the guy who purchased it in 2007. He put a whopping 1000 miles on it since he owned it and currently has a little over 33,000 on it. It had the original window sticker with the following options: (cant figure out how to download photo from phone)
-Special value group $1794
-Automatic AOD $515
-Special Order 86 2045 (which is the DSO that matches the DSO in the door jam)
-135 AMP Lestek Alternator $240.55
-Coding for weight adjustment NC
-Delete paint stripes NC
-Delete articulated seat $702.40 (don't know why that was a charge and not a credit)
The things that leads me to believe its an SSP is the DSO, it also has the 2 buck tags mounted on the radiator support, both of them are stamped with info, can read the info on the front one but the second one cant see enough of the stamping to make out and haven't wanted to cut the wire that holds them. Plus numerous options of SSP cars.
It also has the optional radar detector.
Any thoughts on the above info would be appreciated. I have been to one of the SSP sites and the 2 buck tags seems to be a must to be an SSP as they were the only mustangs with 2 buck tags, all others received only one.

My car received 2 buck tags. 2nd one is smaller and says "asc coupe" on it. So the not only the SSPs got a second buck tag.

A DSO is just the location the car was scheduled to go to. (District Sales Office).
SSPs would have been built to order and I really doubt Ford would have grabbed them and run them back into the plant for prepping for asc.
Found an old post below that may shed a little light in how the DSO and D32 codes and internal Ford codes relate:
