So 19 survivors. That's awesome. If you get as far as 25 survivors I think it will be amazing....but very possible.

Who in their right mind would discard a car with big ass Motorsport graphics plastered on it?

the one that was disregarded was the pride & joy of its owner until it was stolen. how it ended up at the scrap yard is a mystery. the owner did not learn of its fate til recently.

607897 is mine.

It is about to undergo some minor surgery to get it back on the road. I have an 89 GT convertible I am currently doing and a 72 coupe that my wife is going to divorce me over if I don't finish it for her.

I am looking forward to "working" with you all in the future!!

You are very close to my car. What rear speakers do you have in the hatch? What radio do you have?

in some cases the graphics were removed by the time the 2nd 3rd or 4th owner purchased the car & some owners never knew what they had.
also replacement decals were basicly unavailble. since ford didnt produce them, they received no ford part number. any ford parts department or body shop would not know where to get decals.
so if someone had minor body work done, they would sometimes remove the decals so the car matched. i know of at least 3 or 4 capris that suffered this fate.
some owners knew what they had. others did not.

Just thought it sounded good. And was very tired at the time, 1:00am or some thing like that.
I had a similar idea on mine i felt mine was the last built/converted since it has the highest vin# of all documented so far  . Did the lady have all the paper work like i have on mine mayby we can narrow down a few of these when they were converted since i have dates when it arrived to asc via transport and the other places it was shipped to i bet if we had some of this other paper work on other GPIV'S we could figure this out pretty close any ideas anyone?

david,
there is a pretty good chance ours were the last batch to be converted.
our cars are near the end of the gp4 run (vin wise) and were probably the last batch to be sent to asc. remember, the first car on the trailer would the last pulled off, as it was mentioned before. if that was the case then my car could have been the last converted due to it having the lowest vin of the last batch. or then again, maybe not
we can probably narrow it down a bit if any more paperwork shows up.
the first car converted we know already (prototype) and we also know the next 4 converted (pace cars & safety cars)although we dont know in which specific order. then the replicas were all probably sent in batches to asc. i do know that they were pressed for time to finish the cars for grand prix weekend. that was why graphik concepts applid decals at asc, and not there facility(the first one was done at the GC shop in Novi.).
if someone comes up with more paperwork with the delivery date to asc, we might be able to prove which batch was converted last.

:( I got nothing in the way of paper work from ASC or it being a GP, Did find a stamping on the frt K-member that has the date May 10 1985 and the door plate say May.

Still doing maintance, my biggest problem is Exhaust running very HOT like 120degrees at the tailpipes Should be like 80degrees plus mufflers very hot. Going to start with the idle screws Sun. Timing and floats good.
Maybe it's the old gas?

Does my CUN sound right to you? It is 617281. It is quite a few numbers off from the others.
