Oh, you're right! The top is in excellent shape, having been replaced last year. It is not, however, a factory top. It's from Kee Tops, if I remember correctly.75coug wrote:In what kind of shape is the top? I don't recall seeing any photos of it with the top up.

my mclaren is far from original. it was modded engine and such before i ever got it. so its hopeless to get the original intake, headers, etc etc
so im goin what i want
i want to walk out to my garage and see a beast, not a back to stock 100,000 plus miles on a bone stock slow original ugly w heeled car
id rather it turn everyones head and say "DANG WHATS THAT!" over wow its so original and perfect (sandy and the rest of you, sorry your opinion looses out haa)
McLaren will turn many more heads. but turbo coupes are bad

Oh, not true. Those parts are out there still. It takes some looking but they are findable. I have about 6 '85 carbs and have traded them with people looking for proper date coding. The other parts are actually very easy to locate.Shaine wrote:my mclaren is far from original. it was modded engine and such before i ever got it. so its hopeless to get the original intake, headers, etc etc
Turning heads isn't a problem for any asc owner, modified or otherwise.
(don't diss the original wheels, they are very cool/distinctive for what they are

Well, I was the second-highest bidder. Is the high bidder on this board?
I really wanted this car, and had planned to be monitoring things when end of the auction neared, so that I could increase my bid. Unfortunately, I was called away and didn't learn until hours too late that I was outbid.
Bill, if the high bidder flakes out for some reason, let me know. I'll buy it.

Well, I was hoping to get at least 6K for it, but it fell a little short. All in all though, with the economy the way it is, I cannot complain too much.
One interesting note, the gentleman who won is in the Navy, and was stationed in Hawaii but had to move back to WV after his wife was diagnosed with MS.
I do not think he will flake, as he has already contacted me, but I am a little on edge as he has only 1 feedback. We shall see.

It's amazing how much sickness is out there today. So much heartache, illness, etc. The hospital I go to for my Chemo is huge, like it's own zip code city - yet, it's packed with people. No matter where ya go - outside of the hospital, like a food market, standing in line for a movie, at Home Depot, it just doesn't matter, you'll always here someone telling sombody how sick somebody is, (or they are). In this area, (N.Y. / N.J cancer is as common as the common cold is , in January!
But, at least alot of people either beat it totally, or are able to live with it. It's amazing how we can get accustomed to living 3 weeks a month and know that one week we will be too sick to do a damn thing. (and) you work around/thru it and give thanks for those 3 weeks that are good. However, sometimes the "outside world" (Translation: Other people) just don't understand. I mean, hey, I'm 62....don't look anywhere near that age, but numbers don't lie, but I see 24 year old girls and 40 year old guys in there with me, getting the same chemo and oddly the younger they are, the sicker they get from it.
Take care of your health! Eat well, sleep as much as you can, lay the H offa booze and don't smoke. If you are 47 years old, go get a Colonoscopy at the hospital. THAT is what I was too chicken to do and why I got this "C" ! Trust me, it does not hurt, they put you "out" for 45 minutes and you know nuttin'.
If your insurance does not cover it.....talk directly WITH the Dr. Offer him $900 cash money ! Mine charges $2,300. I did & he accepted that.
Just do it, at 47 & at 51 & at 55 & at 59, etc.... A poylup in your colon or rectum is the size of one of thos emoticons to the left, and it 100% WILL kill you, but first take all of your money, your homes, your cars, it takes it all.

Not really... but he seems quite excited about the purchase. He has already contacted Sandy and Hank, and by the information given in his emails to me, I think he is looking to put it back to 100% stock.75coug wrote:Not flaky is good. I assume he will be joining the forum if he has talked to Sandy.

I have been on drugs, sice Wednesday. I feel okay, I washed & SUPER detailed Jeepers, but i have like zero memory, right now. I do not recall speaking to this person, but, I must have. How long ago, can you tell, Bill?
Our son went like 64 miles, South, in N.J. to see his girlfriend, an my wife is ready to shoot me as I have asked her 3 times today, "Where's Matt" ?
I have a McLaren ?
