Got my ASC Wing mounted on the capri

Last year I picked up an ASC wing in trade for some capri parts I had.
I wasn't sure if it was the best trade as the wing was VERY VERY rough.

But the parts I traded were a beat up lower air dam and a torn up upper bumper cover which I wasn't going to get crap for selling anyway.

SO after removing 3 layers of paint, bondo, etc etc I got it down to bare rubber/plastic.

I have notched it for the 3rd brake light and will need to get it out in the sun tomorrow to completely settle.

Those with these wings know how flexible they are heated up by the sun.
Those that don't have one, you wouldn't BELIEVE how bendy they are in the sun, and then harden up in the shade....crazy.

I thought I had a pic showing how bad it was before but I can't find it..errr

AND I will get bettter pictures out of the garage, but I just finished last night.

I AM SO HAPPY....:D It make the bubble look so much better!!!

The first pic shows it before the wing.

I would have traded you a notched wing for an "unnotched" wing. :(

Looks very nice tho. How are those wing clips coming along?

how does it fit along the glass? my wing has a good inch gap from the glass on one side. it loves to hold onto all kinds of crap.

looks good!

ya dink
Ya know...I actually made some up....and they don't look too bad.

I have the technique down and MIGHT go ahead and use them.
We will see. You can get the right bends and angle with the jaw on a set
of needle nose pliers. They have that wide to skinny downward slope.

For now a drop of hot melt is going to hold them down secure until then...lol

I don't know if you would have traded Mike this one was a mess. But then again I don't know how bad yours was.

I am very surprised, hardly any gap.

There will be no crap to get in there as it doesn't see out of the garage except for shows/cruises.

Thanks guys!

Decided to take a few better pics now that the ASC wing is on.

Well Mike, I can bend up these clips pretty damn good now, but I
have been looking at the transition point between the wing and the molding.
I have had MORE people tell me not to use them then use them...that it
its a much cleaner look without them. That it would just put another part and two more visual lines joining them.
I had hot melt glued the ends in place so I could
remove them for the clips, but I think I am going to leave it as be. Its holding VERY well and looks great IMHO.

Click the little of the 3 pics to get the BIG
I think you can click it 2x

Here's the biggest compliment that I could pay to you.....

"I would buy it from you." ~ (I don't say THAT, often!!)

But - I'd put back the OEM wheels.

She's a beauty, and a text-book case for originality.

Maybe glue a small black "button" near the end of the tip. Make it look like it's rivited in place or somethin :D

WOW Thanks Sandy I really appreciate the compliments!
Honestly, 10 holes make me cringe, I just don't like them at all.
If my car was 100% original and 100% stock, I would definitely own a set
to show with "possibly" but thats about it.

At the bottom of this post are the wheels that are going on it, well
that is my plan. I am picking them up Saturday. I think the grey wheel
with the charcoal grey trim should go well together.
