1988 ASC/McLaren Mustang (Project)

Up for auction is a 1988 ASC/McLaren Mustang convertible. Between 1987 and 1990 ASC/McLaren in partnership with Ford customized a little over 2000 Mustang LX coupes into convertibles. This car is #887 of the 1015 produced in 1988. It is Regatta Blue with a blue interior and black convertible top (it was built with a dark blue convertible top, the corrrect NOS top will be included in the sale).

This is a NON-Running project I have had in storage. The engine turns over but will not start. It has been in dry storage for the past several years (since the military had me everywhere but here). It had been driving prior to storage. While in storage she was started and ran to keep her up until last summer when she wouldn't crank. She has no rust, but has the normal little scratches in the paint you see in most cars of this age. She does have leaky power steering. I removed the interior since the owner prior to me hadn't taken care of it and the carpet needed replacing. My plan was to replace it with NOS parts. I have the new carpet, a new NOS rear lower valance, correct NOS taillight covers, NOS hood liner and NOS correct color convertible top(all in the pictures). I do have all the parts, bagged and tagged that I have removed. Once again, it is currently NOT Running....
