Nights the week before the Woodward Cruise are fun, but who ever cruised in the morning, in bumper to bumper traffic?? Not all that interested in people in lawn chairs throwing water under my rear wheels and screaming "light 'em up!" either. Gets annoying fast!

Every Sunday, there's a great gathering of 800-1300 cars at Baker's in Milford. Very nice event and nice people. I-96, Kensington Road exit, right across from Kensington Metro Park.

Thursdays in Depot Town in Ypsilanti are nice. You can even drive by Preston Tucker's old house just about four blocks away. Right next to Marsh Plating.

The Shelby Club show first Sunday of June is awesome, but getting more and more late model every year.

Father's Day weekend, there's a great pre-1976 car show at Greenfield Village and a Sports Car show in Saline (two seaters-only)

They have allready started in New Jersey. The biggest one of the year, was this past Sunday, or a week ago, tomorrow. Weather was great at 72 degrees and sunny.
Next one is a week from tomorrow.

I cannot take MY car(s) anylonger as due to new regulations, you MOST stay the entire length of the show. That would be from 9:30 until 4:30 - all because some idiot left erly last year and bumpted into a person injuring them. Staying from 9:30 AM until 4:30 PM is too much for me, especially in hot/humid temps. On Chemo, I cannot tolerate that much sun exposure......so, the cars stay home.

There's also a Gratiot Ave. Cruise, I think in July.

By far the best are the informal things, just like the heyday, along Woodward any nice Summer night. They don't hassle the grey hairs at all.

Finally--a benefit of getting older!

Shelby Show in June sounds good to me Mark . I think that is at Ford Corporate Head Qtrs . Good Variety of cars there also .
Sorry to say Woodward on the weekend SUCKS . Will most likely be down during the week , Wed or Thursday and do a cruise night like last year . I think Carlisle (FOrd Nationals) is the same weekend as the SHelby Show in Dearborn if I have my dates right . Carlisle is a bit of a drive for me and the GP 4 Capri . If I go I would most likely trailier .....and with fuel these days I think I will hit the more local stuff and drive (Local is within 160 miles)
Mark how about picking a date for Bakers and getting the ASC guy's and (Gals) all to meet there . Something we have not done before ....and everybody locally can drive there .......mmmmm DQ across the street Blizzard! Bakers also has good food ! "FOUR EYED AT BAKERS" . End of June Date sounds good to me . Anybody else into this ?

Forgot . to add Flint Michigan has "Back to the Bricks" the same weekend as Woodward . Starting to be a Pretty large show ......Lots of old cars there also . A alternative to Woodward .....most of the folks that go there gave up on Woodward due to the cluster on the weekend .

Man....you guys travel !!!! I never even considered going to a show that was more than 15 niles away from home. BUT .... we DO have ALOT of shows, here in New Jersey. Next Sunday will be # 2 allready ! Last week's was fantastic! About 125-150 cars, 72 degrees, plenty of shade, ultra low humidity and fabulous mixed brand cars.
Next Sunday is a similiar show, just 7 miles from my house.

The town we live in has a show EVERY other Wednesdqy nite, from 6PM until 9PM. A good 50 cars show up. It's in the town's center, and the street is closed to traffic.. I always go & take a car, as it's not so hot and sunny after 6PM - which is when it starts, and it's 3 hours, not like 9AM until 6PM. THAT is too long for me......9 hours ???

Correction on the Ford Nationals at Carlisle they are June 3,4,5,

As for driving a long ways most of the shows are 80 to 90 miles away for me , Frankenmuth is 90 miles north of Detroit . SO I am use to it . I keep the front waxed good so the bugs wipe rightoff , I get a lot of double takes on the freeway also with the GP IV ....yuk yuk

Ypsi Depot Town Cruise starts in June, I'm told. Kinda cool, but like every other car show in Michigan--50s music, but 60s cars.

Just once I want to hear the Beatles or Stones!
