Headed Back To Carlisle Ford Nationals 2014

Post by CocoLoco »

It looks like we will make it after all to Carlisle this year (June 6-8, 2014). The car still needs a little work but I am hoping to get it done in time.

Anybody else going?

Back from Carlisle. The weather, for a change, was beautiful. Didn't get any rain until heading home on Sunday afternoon. We had about 4-5 Capris up on the hill (2 verts, 2-3 coupes) and one Mustang in the special show area. At least that's what I saw. I managed a 2nd place in our class. All 3 awards went to ascMcLarens. Winners list is posted on the Carlisle Events web site if you are interested.

I seemed to get a lot more interest in our cars this year. Seems I was talking to someone all day. Maybe the weather and the high attendance helped. All in all, a great show and trip.

One small down note. Got my AC fixed before the trip. Noticed some water on the floor mat on the way home. Took a hard right turn off the Turnpike at my home exit and about a quart of water poured out of the heater duct into my shoes. Gravity, centrifugal force and that nasty "water finds it's own level" stuff was not my friend. Sounds like a plugged drain hose. Oh well. Fix one thing and something else breaks.

Could have been worse. Could have been antifreeze!!

Glad the ASC's got some attention. Mine usually does when I take it to new places. In the years I've owned it, I've learned a lot about them thanks to this website and the Four Eyed Pride website. And being close to Henry Huisman hasn't hurt either.

Congrats on the award Dwight! Hopefully I'll get to see your car soon. I hope the weather is nice this coming weekend. I still hope to make it to the GPMC Show.

plumkrazy, I think the first place winner is a White Coupe. I'm not sure about the 3rd place winner.
