IN my roadster, there is no trim past the stock door sill trim, so I have about a 4 inch unfinished spot where the carpet comes up and over the frame. It looks pretty bad, so I would like to cover it--it looks like ASC just didn't finish that area?
Did they have any kind of trim back there?
I took my old kick panel and cut it down so that it tucked under the door sill cover and then dead ended at the storage cover. It is only about 5 inches long and about 5 inches tall.It looks like it is supposed to be there, but I cut it off before it went up the fender along the weatherstripping like it does in the front. The kick panel has a little turn at the top that doesn't match the turn of the weatherstripping at the back of the door, so it just wouldn't look right.
Has anyone done something similar?

I think I was a little unclear--pictures are always better.
This is how the door sill is not finished in my car. I did replace the carpet with the rubber backed style and the carpet didn't reach up and over the rocker panel so there is a gap which makes it look worse. My issue is that the door sill plate just stops and there is nothing for a few inches back to the felt. Just doesn't look finished. ASC had the quarter trim, why couldn't they cut it down to trim out the door??

.
This is the piece of the old front kick panel that I cut down to cover the gap. Now, I didn't cut it very well since this was a trial run, so it is jagged at the back where it hits the felt. If I were to try this again, I would spend a lot more time on it.
.

.
I had to cut the vertical part off that goes up the weatherstrip because it had a curve before it met the top weatherstrip piece. I might be able to straighten it out with a heat gun, but I wasn't thinking about that at the time. Also, I think I could tuck it behind the felt so that it looks like it is supposed to be there..
