OFF topic But dealing with FedEx

Post by plumkrazy »

Was wondering if anybody has had dealings with FedEx. I sold a part and shipped it. It was lost and destroyed! If you are wondering, it was a CJ-8 OEM rocker panel (hard to find) Anyway FedEx says file a claim it's there fault. Will they pay actual cost to replace or just what the person paided me?
Any help or thoughts would be great.

i would think they would pay whatever you had the item insured for, but I'm not sure, never had to deal with it before, sorry

If you did not insure it for a specific value then you will only get up to $100.00 minus the cost of shipping back. If it was insured to $XXX then they will pay you $XXX minus costs.

I have had two claims each on FedEx and UPS and one on USPS. One FedEx was shipped in a grey tote container that I got from Advance Auto Parts. I cleaned the paint off it and shipped a set of heads in it and the distribution center confiscated the tote because they were concerned it belonged to AAP. After AAPs loss prevention inspected the tote it was returned to me istead of forwarded to the buyer. It took two months and FedEx PAID for the replacement value of two reman Vortec heads at $389.00 each.

I ground the tote, added some eVilallianceracing.com stickers and shipped it again!

I had a problem with UPS the item I purchased was damaged or lost (couldnt get a straight answer from them) and was told that the seller would file a claim with UPS, get reimbursed first, then I would get what I paid from the person.

I unfortunately went through this recently with a supercharger I bought. It was from Canada, and it shipped through Purolator. Purolator sent it through DHL once it hit America. Luckily it was insured for $2200. Much was missing and many parts were damaged. So, I gave them a list of items and how much it would cost me to buy them. They wrote me a check for a little less than half. Took about 6 weeks to get the check.

I would assume that a UPS or Fedex, as established as they are, would have better customer service, and hopefully send the check quickly.

it looks like ups is hiring ex-usps employees.
about 4 days ago here in the detroit area, a ups worker snapped & shot & killed his mother & neice, then tried to set them on fire. he then shot/killed a co-worker at work.
 then went over to another co-workers house & waited for him to come out. he got bored of waiting for him so he shot himself.
scarey stuff considering i go to that site he worked at every day for my job.

point being, be nice & cautious arounf ups worker!

UPS workers are notorious for stealing firearms that are sent thru their ground shipping (think only rifles are sent that way).

My neighbor who works for UPS said he wouldnt be the least bit surprised if the slotted drilled rotors that I purchased (went missing or damaged) were stolen by the driver.

Fedex LOST a $50,000 computer being sent to the Charlotte, NC datacenter for Duke Power.

LOST.

They couldn't find it.

Fedex PAID for a brand new one (OUCH). Where it went is still a mystery but I bet somebody got a pretty bitching rack mount home server.
