The car you question was most likely made by
A.H.A. (Andrew Hotten Associates) in Bellvue, Michigan -
now of Ontario, Canada. They made many, many customs
from FoMoCo cars, including Lincoln Town Coupe
Convertibles, Limos, stretch sedans, Mark V Station Wagons,
Mark V Rancheros, Mustang & Capri 2-Seater Converts,
and others. Their work was of high quality, and very
well designed & executed.<br>The "Jubbu Blue" 1982
asc/McLaren Ford Mustang was one of many prototypes
asc/McLaren built prior to "Job #1" on a production Mercury
Capri in 1984. It is unknown exactly how many
prototypes were made, but Sandy has located at least 6 to
date. I think I recall Ms. Muscat's car was the red
color. There are a couple prototypes floating around
with manual VENT WINDOWS, if you recall what those
are. The prototypes had waaay better seats! More
padding, more lateral support, 2-tone contrasting colors,
curved headrests, etc. The were custo, made. They also
had 2-Tone door panels, and more. In 1984, they made
35 in asc/McLaren Red; 10 in ASC White; 4 in Jet
Black and 1 in the above Jubbu Blue, which was NOT
metallic. Ultra bright blue, just as she looks in the
picture. The Name JUBBU came from the metal fabricators
who pounded the initial custom body panels for mold
making, JUBBU Industries.
