As a side note, a related topic, the Recaros were continued for 1987
& 1988 on the Ford Mustang asc/McLaren 2-Seat Ragtop, however
extremely poor sales (83 ordered out of 1,015 1988s) and a "paper-
only" warrentee from Recaro that was 100% meaningless, coupled
together with the fact that the "N" seat supplied, was de-contented
for the specific build for asc, causing the automatic shutoff for the
seat heaters to be deleted, causing premature burn out of the seat
heater wiring, which usually took the wiring for the stereo headrests
to the grave along with it, this being the ultimate reasons that the
recaros were discontinued after sequence of build # 869 was
completed, or after 85.6% of the 1988 build. The last car to have
the recaros was Keweenau White with the Cranberry roof & the Scarlet
Interior, with Recaros. It was an Automatic, with NO radar detector.
It's VIN is: 266272, it had the anthracite wheels, rather than the
white wheels usually put on a white car. It was ordered & sold
by "Oregon Ford" ~ I assume it's in Oregon.
