sorry sandy, not the same escort. although i do remember what your
talking about. seeing the add made us do it. we took an 87 escort
gt, cut the roof off and then chopped the windshield down 8 1/2
inches cause it looked so nasty sticking up like that(same affect as
pulling the windshield back on the asc. anyway, we took a mold off
the original hatchback an d formed a tailgate looking piece to fill
the gap. made top rails for the sides out of fiberglass also.
eventually we made a fiberglass topper and targa top section(this
was the start of my mini truck phase). the car was never totally
finished, after i traded it off, my father was t-boned in an
intersection and the car was no more. i think i also have a pic of
the conversions you were speaking about i will try and find it. i
believe they also did cavaliers and mr-2's. if you remember the
name let me know sandy...
