I have to back Nick up on this one!!
A friend of mine who raced and autocrossed his '89 GT wanted a
more aerodynamic look to the car swapped a capri bubble for his stock
hatch. The bubble fit perfectly except for a little work that was
needed to match it up to some LX taillights. The only difference
between the pre '83 and post '83 Capri body in the back is the rear
bumper cover assembly. The hatch opening is identical for Mustangs
and Capris from '79 thru '93. Thus a '93 Mustang could easily be
converted to a Capri body merely by changing the front and rear body
parts, the unibody is identical. Of course this is somewhat
simplified as there are minor year to year to year stamping,
structural, and detail changes.

In refering to the book entitled "The official Ford Mustang 5.0
technical reference and performance handbook" I found some references
to Capri body parts. On page 164 I found this in section "3.3
windows"--"The 1983-1986 Lincoln-Mercury Capri hatchbacks have a
unique "bubble-style" backlight, which led to the "bubbleback"
nickname popularly applied to these vehicles. (Since the early Fox-
body liftgates are interchangeable, the Capris' bubbleback glass
treatment is sometimes seen on custom Mustangs too.)"
