Initially I told many, many persons that 10 Hatchbacks were made in
1984. WHAT I didn't know was the the # 10 was how many were SHIPPED!
Then we found out the 15 were sold at the factory, to Lincoln~Mercury
corporate persons. These 15 were never shipped, and I was given the
shipped # for the '84 Hatchbacks. 25 is correct!!

EuroCoupes went into production at the very end of 1985 production.
After the 257 SC 2-Seat Roadsters and after the 150 Hatchbacks.
EuroCoupes were void of all exterior striping, had a small ascMcLaren
decal in the side 1/4 window and an ascMcLaren decal on the right
side of the hatch, just over the taillamp. They (usually) lacked the
decal on the hood, too. They were available in the Oxford White, the
Raven Black & the Smoke Charcoal Grey Metallic. They were not
available in the Midnight Navy Blue Metallic nor the Platinum Silver
Metallic. Unlike regular Hatchbacks in Oxford White or regular
Hatchbacks in Raven Black, ALL EuroCoupes had the Popsicle Orange
wheels. (Regular Hatchbacks in Raven Black had "Anthracite" wheels
and regualr Hatchbacks in Oxford White had Oxford White wheels).
EuroCoupes rode on STOCK Ford Springs & Shocks, and were not lowered
1 & 1/4 inches, did NOT have the B-303 Motorsport HiPo Cam and made
do with the 85 MPH Speedo. The shifter (auto or stick) was NOT
leather covered, nor was the steering wheel. The were dealer
delivered with NO radio in them at all. It was up to the dealer to
put in whatever he wanted. The Radar Detector was not available.
Options on them were:
Air Conditioning / Power Door Locks / T-Top /Manual Pop-Up Sun Roof /
Automatic Transmission.
The ascMcLaren Floor mats were an ascMcLaren OPTION as was the 140
MPH Speedo. Mats $33.00 Speedo $85.00.

Purpose:-
Dealers had reported some sales resistance to the Coupes because of
the "gaudy" striping, and dealers also reported PRICE RESISTANCE to
the $4,212.00 MSRLP of the Full ascMcLaren Pkg. on the Hatchback.
In introducing the EuroCoupe, they trimmed down the amount of
Popsicle Orange to just the wheels and a coupe of logo decals. They
also trimmed down the MSRLP to $3,380.00 - or a $832.00 reduction.
The final 47 cars made, were all EuroCoupes.
22 were made in Raven Black
14 were made in Oxford White
11 were made in Smoke Charcoal Grey Metallic
47 Total
By the way one point five percent (1.5%) is the total penatration of
ascMcLaren build of the grand total of Mercury Capris
