Subject: Re: [ASC McLaren ] Re: Who's brave enough to buy this one?

Body:
It would probably be cheaper to find a good condition Mustang GT convertible
and buy the McLaren
specific parts and make your own - then to attempt to resurrect this puppy -
which even its owner
says needs most of the McLaren specific parts purchased " for restoration ".

And you notice he doesn't show the 'damaged' drivers side of the vehicle. The
one universal fact
about Mustangs ( of the Fox body type ) is that it takes VERY LITTLE impact on
the front to make
the cars an insurance writeoff. I would suspect that the damage to the front
drivers side was
sufficient to render that poor little car into a write-off. Otherwise the
insurance company
would have simply paid up to replace the front drives fender. But even more
mysteriously the
owner says that the roof cover is damaged and needs to be replaced. Rag Top ?
What rag top - is
there even the frame of the rag top there ?

So really the guy is selling a gutted Mustang convertible at the moment...
The wreck is worth
its wait in parts ONLY... and it doesn't sound like the total value of its
parts could come
anywhere near justifying bids at $1900 or more...
