Sandy,
Did you get that collectors name? He'd probably like 84 #2 for that price, and(I hate to say), I'd sell it.

Whats "that" car worth, done? Hard to say, but near the bottom of a
decent 1989's value. I would resist putting any # on it. Mike,
forget the book. A 'book' buyer is NOT a mint McLaren buyer. I'd
put your car at $12,000 value. At a car show, in May of 2001 I was
offered $20,000 for my 1986 Coupe. Of course I turned it down! IF I
needed $20g I'd get an equity loan. If I needed a 620 mile showroom
new McLaren Coupe in Smoke Charcoal Grey I'd go____________ (Where
was that you said....)? Of course, to the Mercury dealer & place an
order! he he he
On these cars, the all important thing is mileage & condition, for
the BIG bucks. Of course, a $2,200.00 "needs some work" is gonna
sell first, as more young guys can afford it. The monied serious
collectiors are searching out the gems! Like Diamonds or Art.
