Subject: 1986 ascMcLaren 3.8SC 2-Seat Roadster

Body:
Car made to appeal to the woman who loves the car, but does not need
or want the performance of the 302 Cu. In. V-8 and cannot grasp the
$24,000 prce tag. Therefore, for a brief time ascMcLaren offered the
3.8Litre SC version. Herewith (most?) facts:-

* 3.8Litre V-6 replaces the 5.0Litre V-8
* 4-Speed Automatic is only Transmission
* 3.8SC emblem on deck lid, instead of 5.0SC
* Wood trim on interior removed, Incl. Dash
* Low Level (Base Model) seats are used
* Seats are cloth, standard.
* ascMcLaren - covered leather is optional
* Single left-side under bumper tailpipe
* Standard '86 Capri Interior Door Panels
* The car retained the leather wheel & shifter
* The car retained the Air Horns
* Same Exterior Colors: Red/Black/White
* None made in Silver/Paris or Atlantic Blue
* Sand Beige or Atlantic Blue tops & trim.
* Car used stock Capri center console !

I have no information as to how much less money this vehicle was. I
do know that there were NO OPTIONS on it. The Sport Performance
Group was not available on it (Headlight & Taillight Covers from the
Coupe Version, Front Hella Fog Lights & Air Dam from Coupe Version
and Rear Under Bumper Air Valance Panel with Exhaust Cut Outs From
Coupe Version). Car came with Ford's AM/FM stereo/Cassette, Pwr.
Windows, and Pwr. Trunk Release. Car went into production in October
of 1985. Car was phased out in April of 1986. Six Month Car!
