Sure the car has some things that need to be worked on if you want it back to or close to original condition. What I don't understand is WHY would you want to make it a parts car? Like Sandy said there have been other ASCs that have seen worse days. I thought that one aspect of this group was about preserving these cars, keeping them alive and well. So why would you destroy another McLaren? (especially since a regular Capri is a rare car now a days to begin with) This car is not in bad shape with a little TLC it can be awesome. I understand your anger about the mislistings he has stated but we are also here to inform. I don't think that all of us were automatically born knowing about these cars, we have read, asked question (namely to Sandy) and learned AND ARE STILL LEARNING about these cars. I too get mad when the ASC/McLaren is misrepresented.
I saw the engine pics. It could be possible that who ever put the Strut Tower Brace in the engine bay CHANGED the air cleaner set up because with the Strut Tower Brace were it is there is NO room for the stock air cleaner setup. THIS IS JUST AN OTIMISTIC POSSIBLITY.
I might be able to check out the car possibly Sunday because I maybe out were it is located. So, I will let you all know. Otherwise, Someone please find it a good home.
