Body:
All 25 1984 Coupes were the dark blue with the orange striping The 1st 90 1985(s) were the same. The last 60 1985s were white with the orange striping.
Beginning in 1986, the buyer (whether is was the orderingt dealer for inventory or a retail buyer) had a choice or anything offered ! Some combos were never made..... Ones that were made for 1986 include:--
The two aforementioned above for 1984 & 1985 plus these additions that were exclusively 1986:-
black with silver striping (with orange was available, but none made). white with silver striping (with black was available, but none made). charcoal grey with orange, with silver, with black striping (all were made). Platinum Silver with black striping (N.A. with any other stripe colors).
2 special cars were made for the Miller Brothers, owners of Carlise Auto Shows. One was black with GOLD striping & the GOLD wheels from the ragtop, the other was the dark blue with GOLD striping & the Gold wheels from the ragtop. The black car has been totalled & is gone, the blue one exists is reasonably decent condition.
A few (exact # unknown) black coupes were made with a single bit of striping, decals or logos. My ascMcLaren contacts says "about 4"
