Well, all cameras are different and some are just dumber than
others. I've got a friend with a camera that resets the date when
he runs out of batteries if he doesn't turn it off before they
completely go dead. I couldn't figure out why either. He just
ignored it and turned off the date so it won't show in his images.
But I wouldn't put it past the guy to pull out the 1999 pictures of
when he bought the car before he put his own wear and tear on it.
