Well, on my convertible I put a new hood, new front bumper cover, rear valance, etc etc etc and brought the entire body up to a primer stage. Than I trotted around to three of the decent shops around town for a quote to finalize the sanding and paint. Oddly enough all three came in with an identical quote - $3200 ( which included painting the inside of the door wells and the trunk ).
But alas, time has run out for me in the States and so I have to take the McLaren up to Canada and get the final paint work done there. Fortunately all my effort was mostly spent on the operational aspects of the car ( new brakes, new trannie, etc etc ). So the car can handle the five hundred mile drive to Canada. The only good thing about returning to Canada will be the weak Canadian dollar may end up saving me some money when I take it to one of their body shops. The only bad thing is having to go through the US Customs and Canadian Custom's paperwork binge for importing a car into Canada from the US.
So I don't know if the $3200 is in the ball park of the quote that you received. Frankly I was a little disappointed by these quotes considering that I have done the lions share of the parts replacements and repair work.

Well, I just got word that we finally have a set date for getting my
Coupe into the body shop. Monday, 5/19. Its going to take 2-4 weeks
to finish and no I won't tell you how much its gonna cost.
Boy I hope it turns out good, I'm going to have my fingers crossed
along with every other body part.
This is definitely one coupe yanked from the jaws of death. If I can
find the pictures of what it looked like at its lowest point, I'll
put them up along with the finished product.
