Mike, the "XP" is the paint. "X" = Special "P" = Paint.
THAT DSO I do not recognize. Most of our cars (if not all) were
built under a D32 code.
Since the only Special Order 1984-1986 Mercury Capri on Ford's
records was the ascMcLaren, D32 was enough. Had there been OTHER
special order varieties, such as (if it was a Mustang) a Police Car
Pkg. then other internal codes would have been required, but since
there were no other deviations pertaining to a Capri, D32 was enough.
All 1984-1990 ascMcLarens (Coupe or to be made into a convert) also
had a code (I don't know it) for "Sports Delete Option" which deleted
the lower charcoal paint, the fog lights and the front air dam.
