Mustangs of those years had the same HP as the better looking Capri's ;)
1984 175
1985 210 Only factory roller cammed - Carb'd 5.0
1986 200
1987 225
1988 225
1989 225
1990 225
1991 225
1992 215
1993 205

The main reasons that 85's had more HP than the 84 was due to the
introoduction of the Serpentine Belt system and the roller camshaft.

The 86 lost some HP due mostly to a crummy set of truck heads.

HP gained again in 87 with revised heads and a different camshaft design.

89 was the year that mass air was put into the mustangs allowing for the
engine to be "Hopped up" while still retaining an idle and smoothj
powerband.

92 and 93 - power is said to have dissapeared due to the newly installed
computers. Some people say it was for marketing reasons pushing the new 94.----- Original Message -----
