I chose to sit this one out, and let the others enjoy the dance.
However, I am very impressed at the many excellent points every
person has made herein, on this subject.

Personally, I knew that I wanted to keep my 1986 Coupe "as original
mint" and knew that I'd never have the knowledge nor spare change to
make it "right" ever again, after "Day-1" dealer delivery. So, what
I did after bringing it home and tucking it away, 18 years ago, was
to then (1986) purchase a 1976 {10 years old then} Chrysler Newport
Sedan to use as transportation. Turned out to be one of the greatest
cars I ever owned! Bought it from the original little old MAN owner
with 61,000 on the clock (6,100 a year he drove it) and continued to
use it until I had enought $$$ together to buy a new car TO USE, and
THAT was in 1988, a Dodge Shadow Shelby Edition with I used.
I would never critique anyone for how they spend their money, but one
has to weight emotion -vs- reality ! We are only on this earth
once, so each of us has to do what we gotta do for our personal
enjoyment. Fulfill your own dreams and you'll have no regrets on
judgment day...... Only answer to the man in the mirror's conscience!
