I agree with not locking a convertible. I drove verts
(little sports cars) for 20+ years and NEVER locked
the doors for that reason. Bottom line, if they want
something in your car they'll get it.

Keep in mind that a hard top is just about as easy.
They simply break the window. Think it's hard to do
without a lot of noise and commotion? Nope, they just
use a spring loaded center punch. The kind you press
until it *snaps* and makes the indentation. Press it
against the side glass of a car and it instantly, and
fairly quietly turns into a million pieces.

One more piece of advice: Always turn the steering
wheel all the way to one side, or as close as possible
with your club. This makes it impossible to tow by
lifting the rear wheels, and much harder to load on a
flatbed.
