Congratulations on your purchase and welcome to the "club". :)
Covercraft makes several different car cover materials (10 of them actually)
depending on what the intended use is going to be. Some of the fabrics are
available in their universal fit covers and all of them are available in a
custom fit cover.
For your application, you should probably consider their "Sunbrella" fabric
cover. Covercraft states: "the Sunbrella is designed to block damaging UV
from reaching the vehicle's exterior and interior. If protection is needed
from intense sun exposure, this is the fabric."
It is available in six different colors.
Covercraft does not have a specific custom pattern for the asc/McLaren, but
the 1987-93 Mustang convertible pattern should be close enough. The custom
pattern code for that car is C10704.

I've been lurking around this message board for over a year now and
have posted maybe two times. I've always enjoyed reading the huge
amount of information posted on this board, but never had a vehicle
to put it to good use until now.
I just purchased a red '88 Manual with 88K on it. Definately not a
show car, but not a beat up road pig either. Just used enough for me
to drive around, tinker with the engine and not feel guilty about
reducing the value of a rare automobile should I want to bolt
performance parts on it.
I've spent the past few weeks going through all the messages posted
before I joined and copied information relating to my vehicle into a
word document so hopefully I don't ask anything that has been
answered several times before. I do however, have a couple of
questions for the group.
My car has a Ford horn pad, but it did include the McLaren horn pad
in a box or parts. The first day I got it, I tried connecting the
stock horn pad back in place and found out that it has a short. I
did read that this results from the springy foam internally in the
pad drying out and the metal contacts end up touching all the time.
Should I just bite the bullet and contact Hank about a new one? Or
has anyone ever tried to repair their horn pad and if so what
procedures should I go through to avoid damaging it?
Second question is a recommendation for a good car cover. I live in
the scorching Arizona sun and am concerned about the sun eating away
the top. Anyone recommend a good cover for these cars?
