I agree that the symptoms that you were describing are common with a bad
headlight switch and that would be the first thing I would replace. Also you
might want to consider putting in a relay for the foglamps, this will put
much less stress on the wiring going to the headlight switch.
You could have damaged the new switch when you replaced the old one without
disconnecting the battery.
You should ALWAYS disconnect the battery when you are going to any repair
work on your car, especially when the component has power to it at all times
such as a headlight switch.

new switch DOSENT WORK!!! the lights still flicker on and off and
the switches makes a crackeling sound and has filled my car with the
oder of melting plastic :(

help please anyone...
