Well, I take back most of what I said. Here is what happened....
If you'll return to the site, under his adv. he has a huge list of
mods. After I hit "POST" and went back a 2nd time, I came to realize
that THOSE mods are on his OTHER car, and NOT the McLaren. Go back &
look immediately below the adv. and you'll see what I am talking
about. In addition, perhaps I am overly sensitive regarding Mods,
but the reason for THAT is because I have been maligned many times
over the years for NOT modifying MINE!
My take on it is this:
IF IF IF you heavily modify your car, that's great, you've made it
how YOU want it. However, when you are tired of it & wish to sell
it, don't expect buyers to pay 1-cent extra for your car. They
didn't do it & they probably have other ideas on how'd they would do
it, or maybe they want to put it back to stock. The $$$ spent on
mods is gone. The owner did it for the owner, and the owner enjoyed
it. The potential buyer is another story.
Friends recently bought a house. The owner had installed an inground
pool, and was like yada yada yada about the great pool and like at
that about the pool. The people bought the house and immediately
filled in the entrue pool with earth, ripped up the concrete around
it and planted grass. They didn't want the added insurance that goes
with having a pool, nor the pool upkeep. They belong to a country
club, and they swim & golf there, so the pool was of no use to them.
The prior owner from whom they bought it, was totally miffed at their
actions,and could not comprehend it, just could not see it, no-how.
Mods done to a car are the same, by & for the modifying owner, and
not appreciated by subsequent owner(s) FREQUENTLY!
