Just a quick note here. Hopefully you havn't found out already but the 85
headers are different in length from 86 and up. You need to change them for
the h-pipe to line up correctly.

Oh and don't gut the cat. You are correct in saying that it creates
turbulence. Besides what you may wan't to do is ice the original exhaust in
a nice dry closet somewhere just in case you ever wan't to return to stock.
