We have come to find out that the LIMITED EDITION (plaques) were
installed randomly by ascMcLaren and in most cases bear little to no
meaning regarding the actual date any particular car was completed.
These plaques were affixed ony for one reason: THE W-O-W Effect, as
in "Wow...Look it's number 31" (Truthfully, just a number is
meaningless, unless it tells out of HOW MANY, as in LIMITED EDITION #
31 OF 120. See? Otherwise it's a pretty empty premise. 31 of 31 or
31 of ten thousand. See? However, in the final year of 1990 due to
changes in management, they were in fact installed in 100% the
correct order, BUT that only involves 65 units in all. 1987-1989
were stuck on pretty haphazardly.

If you either post the last 6 digits of your VIN or e-mail them to
me, I'll look it up in the master file and let you know exactly want
number in the sequence she was. Sorry, I do not have this info for
1984/1985.
